Kill The Internet?
How does that saying go? If it isn't broke, don't fix it. Yea, that one. The internet is apparently becoming a very dangerous place. Dangerous for governments that have something to hide or are afraid of losing power. First (okay maybe not really first) it was the uprising in Iran and then recently it was Tunisia and now the government of Egypt has pulled the plug on the internet in an attempt to stop the same kind of thing from happening there. What's next? The good 'ole US-of-A is next. The US government has tried to put through various versions of an internet kill-switch over the past year while calling it all kinds of different things. It is coming up again and Senator Lieberman is apparently leading the charge. Here's the thing folks, the internet isn't broken, our governments are. Where should we be focusing our attention?
